Sometimes when I've finished showing teachers/parents the
possibilities, they feel so overwhelmed and don't know where
to start. Begin where you feel most comfortable. Add clip art
to some poems for your class for your shared reading Duotangs.
At the lab, use the online activities that have already been
collected. Ask your administration for KidPix and Kidspiration
licensing for your school. |

2.
Browse through the telecollaborative projects for ideas that
you can use right away. |

3.
Check the PD calendars for your district and sign-up for areas
you want to improve - learning how to make a web page?
learning how to work with digital images? learning how to use
multimedia? If you don't see what you are looking for, contact
your tech person in the district and ask them how you can
learn more... Try to find someone willing to mentor you in
your journey. You can always
email me and I can try to help you out online, or refer
you to online tutorial pages. |

4.
Once you have an idea of a project you'd like to do with your
children, find someone to collaborate with you. Ask your
colleagues - at school, from your same grade level in your
district, or if you'd like
email me and I can post it on the list serve mail out. |

Be patient with yourself. It takes years to gain proficiency.
I am always learning more myself... |
